The difference between ICSI and IUI
ICSI: precise technology for difficult cases. ICSI is an advanced technique used when infertility is related to sperm quality or the sperm's inability to penetrate the egg. A single sperm is selected under the microscope and injected directly into the egg to achieve fertilisation. ICSI is often used in severe male infertility or when conventional attempts fail.
IUI: a simpler, less costly option. Unlike ICSI, IUI is less invasive. Sperm is collected and processed in the laboratory, then placed directly into the woman's uterus during ovulation. IUI is used in cases such as weak sperm motility or mild problems with the woman's reproductive system.
How do you choose the right technique? The choice depends on an accurate diagnosis of the couple's situation. At the clinic of Dr. Asma Al-Momani, a specialised, comprehensive consultation is offered to choose the most suitable option according to health and medical history.
